2009 - Maidenhead Drama Festival - "A Year in Red Braces"
"A Year in Red Braces was a good story with themes of depression, homosexuality and bankruptcy. It was nice to finally see a performance with some structure and a storyline....... The use of a projector with captions to let the audience know the time and setting, was good....... Overall a good first performance by the writer and leading actor, MJ Saunders from Cookham, as well as Hilary Wilson - Inner Voice One." Maidenhead Advertiser

2007 - Maidenhead Drama
Festival - Best All Male Performance for "Vision Impaired", by Richard James
2006 - Maidenhead Drama Festival - Best Unpublished Play and Best Comedy Award for "White Lies" by Richard James
"It's a great night at Pinder Hall with these two comedies from Cookham's Tarrystone Players. Richard James wrote and directed White Lies, a fabulous play for five women. Meeting up after 30 years, four university pals discover why they they might not have actually been such good friends! It's very funny, beautifully played with a starring role for Theresa May lookalike and soundalike, Lynne Smith, with Ann Greenwood, Tina Langley and Sue Roberts playing the friends who get their own back with hilarious results.... Newcomer to the Tarrystone Hannah Yates plays a delightful waitress!"
2005 - "The Mystery at Mallen Hall"
"The play is written by Cookham actor Richard James who plays the larger than life Sherlock Holmes. It's a brilliant whodunnit where the audience have to guess the murderer! And did they guess correctly? On the opening night only four people got it right - there's nothing like a good twist to keep the audience on their toes - and the winner was presented onstage with a bottle from Stratfords wines by the cast. The Tarrystone players are celebrating their 40th anniversary and have pulled out all the stops with this production. Good set, costumes and props and new comfortable seats in the Hall made it a very enjoyable evening." |
